This is a really beautiful 1820's/30's French mirror. The style is of the period of the restoration of the monarchy after the overthrow of Napoleon.
Originally gilded, this particular mirror is now only showing traces of the gilding. The striking cream and red colouring is the gesso (the type of plaster which forms the frame) and the reddish boule which is the layer that makes the gold leaf "stick". The ornate floral detail on the corners is typical of the period.
With original mirror plate that does have age related foxing.
