Chapeau de Gendarme armchair

So-called as the back resembles the shape of a Policeman's helmet.

The first of three upholstery pieces this week that we found all covered in the same colourful and swirly fabric. This traditionally upholstered armchair is comfortable, and the fabric is in serviceable condition. 

The 'piping' that runs around the perimeter of the armchair is actually covered bamboo. The armchair sits on elegant cabriole legs. From Paris.
