18th century Louis XV chair.
The fruitwood frame is ornately carved. On cabriole legs.
The cane back is intact, and the worn pink silk upholstery is likely to be the original fabric. The arms and back rest have been partially covered in the same silk fabric, which has small tasselled fringing.
The chair is strong and sturdy, there are some historical (and since filled) wormholes mainly consigned to the back of the chair, but there is no live worm and we have treated it for peace of mind.
We sourced this fabulous chair from a Chateau in Burgundy, France.
