19th century French shelving unit, probably from a shop.
The whole is made in pine, with the internal side surfaces retaining the original grey paint.
The open square space originally had a shelf and cupboard doors. We can easily put back an old pine shelf, and if desired, re-purpose old panels we have to create a pair of doors, so as to provide a closed space.
The unit can be sat on a counter, or, with the right fittings, be hung on a solid wall.
