Late 18th - early 19th century Louis XVI style triptych mirror by the famous 'Mirroir Brot' company founded in 1826 and set the standard for quality and excellence in the mirrors they produced, mainly specialising in beauty and triptych mirrors. The "Mirroir Brot" logo is etched on two brass plates; one located at the top of the mirror, and the other, on the reverse of the right hand mirror, and down on the left side with a brass droplet shaped pull.
Each mirror plate has a thin brass edging around the perimeter, and the front mirror (when in a closed position) is bevel edged. When open, the left side mirror has losses to the mercury mainly around the top, and some down the sides.
There is also some minor spot foxing to the other two mirror plates. The reverse of the left side mirror is fabric lined which has an historic stain in the centre. The mirror plates are brass hinged and sit within a carved, cream painted wooden frame with flower motifs to the four corners. From a house in Paris, France.
The mirror is exceedingly heavy and requires wall mounting.
