A very old, possibly 16th or 17th century Monks' low table from a monastery in western France.
It would have been used for dining; the monks sat on the floor and took their food from the circular recesses in the top.
The table is in its original condition; the wood is dry, and the table is very heavy.
There is some movement in the table, but this does not affect its usability. We have chosen to leave it as it is, should you wish it to be made sturdy the extra cost would be £60 + VAT.
Would now make a fabulous coffee table.
