Railway lantern (Reserved)

£245.00

Late 19th century old copper lantern used on the French, SNCF railways.

We sourced this in wine town of Pouilly, in the Loire Valley. The glass is intact and has been converted to electric at some point but would now require re-wiring to current safety standards.

The copper is in good order and there are 2 brackets on the reverse for wall mounting as well as a larger top handle.

We have left this in its found condition, with the view that this preserves its originality and evidence of past use.

Priced 'as is', we can have this re-wired for an additional £45 + VAT.
