French stoneware bottle often referred to as a 'bouteille en gris'.
This heavy-duty bottle would have been used for storing liquids such as vinegar or oil. There is a carrying handle, also useful for the ease of pouring, but no stopper.
Finished in a glossy soft grey colour there are some time worn nicks to it, this all adds to its rustic appeal and would now make a great decorative piece.
