Beautiful, Napoleon III love seat of generous proportions.
With needlepoint seat and backrest which are in very good condition. The seat depicts a stag in a countryside setting, and the backrest; a lady in a long blue gown holding a dove.
The frame has chunky barley twist carvings and stretcher. There are leaf style carvings on either side of the back rest, and interestingly there are stylised Basset hound carvings at the ends of each armrest.
The seat sits on double castors at the front.
There are some old worm holes, mainly on the back legs but the worm is historic and not live.
