From a farmhouse in central France is this late 19th century pale oak table which is a great height for working at. Strong and sturdy.

Very heavy also, with metal arms reenforcing the top to the sides, the top is devised of slim planks of wood with small holes at regular intervals presumably to allow sawdust to fall through.
