A 19th century tapestry carton of a colourful bouquet of flowers, tied with a bow. The shape suggests that the final tapestry would be used on the backrest of an armchair.
Gouache on thick paper. From Aubusson, Central France.
There are signs of wear commensurate with use and age, including a visible glue repair, possibly from the previous owner. Sold as seen, unframed.
